Who are the followers of dataBuddha?
While dataBuddha is the new emblem and spiritual essence of the movement, dataBuddha Guides have been leading people down the Path to information enlightenment for over a decade. Our Guides have already aided hundreds and hundreds of people, in organizations large and small, to master their data. Although our clients and their dataBuddha Guides walked the Path together, we just didn't talk about it this way.
All of these followers, our clients, have achieved information enlightenment by accepting the central truth that their data - and the software applications where that data resides - exist to serve them. When we began our engagements with these clients, too often, the opposite was the case.
Some stories of information enlightenment are shared here. The people and firms represented are just a cross-section of the universe of the many varied Paths dataBuddha's followers have taken.
What do followers of dataBuddha have in common?
Nearly everyone that uses a computer in their daily work must collect, process, share or summarize data. Those that have sought and taken the Path to information enlightenment have had the proverbial pebble in their shoe. Maybe it was a spreadsheet they had created that couldn't handle the volume of data any longer. Perhaps they needed to extract information from existing software application in a new way. Or their software didn't address some critical of their business operation.
At that point, they found us and we guided them to move the pebble. Many then sought additional guidance to remove other pebbles, or to avoid them entirely. In every case, the Path we guided them toward was the most direct and least cumbersome and costly we could find.
Also during this time, we became the publisher of software tools to help our clients become one with their data. These low-cost software programs have been distributed around the world to tens of thousands of people and organizations. While our Guides could not help everyone individually who purchased our software, its design and philosophy mirrors dataBuddha's.
